Why it matters

Store review and HTTPS don't protect the app itself.

Apps can be repackaged

A published app can be decompiled, patched, re-signed and redistributed with your name on it. Coconut Shield's signature check makes a modified copy refuse to run.

Attackers hook apps at runtime

Tools like Frida let an attacker change what your code does while it runs: skip a login check, pull out keys, automate fraud. The app needs to notice when that happens.

Compromised devices change the rules

On a rooted or jailbroken phone, an emulator or behind an intercepting proxy, the usual assumptions fail. Banking and payment apps are often expected to detect this.

Protection shouldn't cost a rebuild

Adding an SDK means code changes, new releases and more testing. Coconut Shield works on the finished build, so security doesn't slow your release schedule.
